Eco-Flex® has been manufacturing products from recycled rubber for over 30 years.  When asked to compare to similar products, there really are not any to compare to.  For this reason, the comparable products are concrete, wood, or vinyl.  In all cases, Eco-Flex® has many advantages to offer.  One thing to consider is that rubber does not decompose, crack or lose structural strength over time so longevity is the main advantage.  Other advantages are strength and flexibility.  Rubber is one of the few products that can withstand any weather condition including extreme heat, intense cold, and wet or dry climates to name a few.  The rubber will never crack or break even during an earthquake or hurricane.  It will remain elastic throughout its entire lifespan.

Since Eco-Flex® products are manufactured from recycled tires, it takes on the same durability characteristics as a tire. It takes a long period of time for tires to disintegrate (which is why we try to keep them out of landfills by recycling them). Eco-Flex® products are 97% tire rubber and they will last for many years.

Similar to concrete or brick paving stone, Eco-Flex® rubber tiles will warm in the sun. Darker colors retain more heat, for example, black tiles will be warmer.

No. All our Eco-Flex® products are manufactured with low VOC ingredients. Each rubber granule is encapsulated so it does not off-gas.

All Eco-Flex® products can be cleaned using a pressure washer or a garden hose. Snow can be removed using a shovel with plastic blade or snow blower. Eco-Flex® products are not affected by de-icing products. Over time the carbon starts to surface on the tiles, and they tend to look darker, you can use a product like Spray Nine to refresh them. Spray the tiles, give them a light scrub with a stiff broom or brush and rinse. The tiles should come out bright and clean.

For our full interlocking designs the product can be installed over a leveled and compacted sub-base without requiring any adhesive.
For our under/overlap link system tiles, it is recommended these tiles be both glued and fastened together. Doing so will mitigate expansion, contraction and movement.
If the installation is over concrete or wood, gluing is recommended to prevent movement.
